Snippet Saturday: Friends

I’ve often heard from romance readers that finding depictions of female friendship in romance is strangely rare. It does seem odd that, for a readership that’s comprised mainly of women and that relies on friendships with other women to get recommendations for new books, there’s an absence of female friendships within romance novels. There are exceptions, of course, but mostly we see groups of male friends, or the heroine seldom in the company of other women.
